Competition: EY Inclusive Leadership
Award: 3rd Place
Project: Started the Diversity & Inclusion Committee. Mission was to further ingrain diversity into the framework of our Chapter through the creation of a body dedicated to the construction and maintenance of inclusive initiatives. Objectives were:
1. Educate and train Committee members in equity related issues and how to handle them,
2. Assess our Chapter’s current situation and the perceptions and attitudes surrounding our Chapter’s level of diversity and inclusion,
3. To have our Committee members impart the knowledge they gained through their training and research to the rest of our Chapter.
The Committee members Allison Davis and Thanh Nguyen attended three trainings over winter and spring terms, conducted their own complementary research, developed a survey to assess our chapter, and prepared a presentation for our chapter to share what they learned. The Committee will be continuing in the next academic year and hope to take on more diversity related projects.
